The Cooperative Children’s Center Seeks teachers

Our cooperative has been around since 1972. We are a fully licensed, NAEYC accredited childcare center where parents work in partnership with their child’s teachers to gain a greater understanding of their own child as well as gain a deeper knowledge of the community as a whole. We are an anti-bias, progressive community that values and embraces diversity. Located a stones throw away from the Ave we are close to all major bus lines.

We are currently looking for a lead teacher in the 3-5 year old classroom as well as talented substitutes who love working with young children and have a flexible schedule. Lead teachers need to have an early childhood, education or sociology background and one year of experience working with preschool aged children. Lead teachers must also be able to make a one year commitment.

We offer great benefits, such as medical, dental vision, ten paid sick days, ten paid vacation days, ten paid holidays and a week of paid in December. We also pay for and host many of our trainings.

Lead Teacher – Full Time

Cooperative Children’s Center is seeking a Lead Teacher to work in the 13-5 year old room, our Moon/Comet Room. 

Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education: Bachelor’s Degree,
    Associate’s Degree, CDA, AAS or CDEC.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in child care center
    as a Lead Teacher
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs

Additional Employment Requirements After Hire

  • STARS first 20 hours (within 90 days)
  • Criminal History Background Clearance (required before hire)
  • First Aid Certification (ASAP)
  • Infant Child CPR Certification (ASAP)
  • HIV/Blood borne Pathogens Training (ASAP)
  • TB test (within 1st week)
  • Food Handler’s Card (within 90 days)

Experience

  • Awareness & Sensitivity toward different ethnic & cultural backgrounds
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Anti-Bias based goals
  • Comfortable with positive guidance practices and techniques
  • Thorough understanding of Emergent Curriculum as well as practice in implementing such Curriculum.

Salary

  • $12.00~$15.00 DOE
